November 2017 Three different projects on the BBSRC White Rose Doctoral Training Partnership are available to work in the Webb group. Two potential projects (in collaboration with colleagues in the Faculty of Biological Sciences) relate to the biochemistry and chemistry of natural product biosynthesis. The third project (in collaboration with Dr Megan Wright) is to use a chemical proteomics approach to understand protein autoactivation and autoproteolysis.

The structure and function of an indanomycin polyketide synthase as a tool for novel antibiotic production

Engineering lipoglycopeptide biosynthesis to produce new antibiotics

Protein autoactivation and autoproteolysis

The deadline for application is 5th January 2018 - details of how to apply can be found here.
