I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow specialising in protein engineering, modification and interactions. I am based in the School of Chemistry, University of Leeds, working with Prof. Mike Webb. I obtained my PhD in Chemical Biology (2016) from the University of Leeds, working with Mike and Prof. Bruce Turnbull (in collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline), engineering cholera toxin for improved therapeutic delivery. Since then, I have applied myself to investigating proteins in a variety of backgrounds across biology, physics and chemistry, including vaccine development, viral replication, plant signalling and synthetic photosynthesis, before returning to Mike’s lab to develop novel protein labelling techniques.
